Site analytics
I use first-party statistics to see which pages are useful, how people reach the site and where the site could work better.
The statistics include page views, landing and exit pages, referring sites, campaign tags, broad device/browser information, scroll milestones, time spent with a page visible, sections reached and clicks on the phone, email and WhatsApp links. A coarse country code is recorded only when the hosting/CDN supplies one.
The analytics do not use an advertising network or create a persistent visitor profile. The server creates a short-lived pseudonymous key for session statistics. It changes each day. Raw IP addresses are not stored in the analytics data. Raw events are reduced to daily aggregate statistics and then removed; the aggregate figures are kept for up to 400 days.
I use these statistics only to improve this website. I rely on the statistical-purposes exception in PECR and legitimate interests under UK GDPR for this processing.
Analytics on this browser
You can object at any time. Turning analytics off stores one first-party preference cookie so the site remembers your choice.
Global Privacy Control and browser Do Not Track signals are also respected by the analytics code.
Hosting logs
The hosting service may also record requests in normal server logs, including an IP address, requested page, time and browser information. Those hosting logs are separate from the site analytics described above.
Reviews from Trustindex
Pages with reviews connect your browser to Trustindex automatically. This shares the technical information needed to request the content, including your IP address.
Trustindex supplies the reviews and may load resources from other providers. Its own privacy information explains its processing. You can also read the reviews directly on Trustindex.
The Trustindex review embed loads on the Home and Reviews pages.
Enquiries and external links
WhatsApp, phone and email links open your chosen service or application. Information you send through them is handled through those services. I use your enquiry to reply and discuss tutoring with you.
